There’s something special happening in Dubai’s theatre scene—and MTDXB (Musical Theatre Dubai) is right at the centre of it. What started just four years ago as a group of musical theatre lovers looking for a creative outlet has grown into one of the city’s most exciting and welcoming arts communities. And to celebrate their fourth birthday, they’re going big. Broadway big.
This month, MTDXB is staging Guys and Dolls, one of the most iconic musicals of all time. Written by Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling, and Abe Burrows, it first lit up Broadway in 1950, followed by a West End debut in 1953. Featuring show stopping numbers like Luck Be a Lady and Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat, it’s a feel-good, high-energy show through the streets of 1950s New York.
Running 21–24 May, the show features a cast of over 50 and a live 14-piece band—bringing the magic, music, and mischief to life in style. Broadway musical, Guys and Dolls, follows happy go-lucky Nathan Detroit as he evades marriage to his long-suffering fiancée Adelaide, while the smooth-talking, high-roller Sky Masterson unexpectedly falls head-over-heels for mission worker Sarah Brown.
Since launching in 2021, MTDXB built a growing hub for performers and theatre fans from all walks of life—proof that Dubai’s arts scene is alive and kicking. So, whether you’re a lifelong musical fan or just in the mood for a fun night out, don’t miss this one.
