Design week season has become one of the most reliable fixtures on the region's creative calendar. Dubai Design Week now draws exhibitors and visitors from across the globe each November, while Cairo Design Week has grown quickly into a genuine citywide event spanning multiple creative districts rather than a single venue.

Between the flagship installations and the trade-floor product launches, these weeks are where the region's architects, product designers and craft studios get their biggest audience of the year — and where a lot of the conversations about what "Gulf design" or "Middle East design" even means actually happen in public, rather than in a trade publication after the fact.
