Sharjah Art Foundation has opened applications for affordable studio spaces at Arts Square, with seven spaces available from AED 800. UAE based artists and creative practitioners can apply until 10 September 2026.

Sharjah Art Foundation is now accepting applications for affordable studio spaces at Arts Square in Sharjah, giving UAE-based artists and creatives dedicated spots to work on their projects.
What is the Sharjah Art Foundation Studio Programme?
The Sharjah Art Foundation Studio Programme provides short- and long-term studio spaces for UAE based artists and creative practitioners. The programme is designed to support artistic research, experimentation and the development of new work, while encouraging creative exchange and professional development.
Seven studio spaces are currently available across two locations. There are two medium studios at the Collections Building for AED 1,200, three small studios at the Collections Building for AED 800, and two ground floor studios at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi for AED 1,000.
Where are the studios located?
The studios are based at Arts Square in Sharjah, across the Collections Building and Bait Obaid Al Shamsi. Both locations are within walking distance of Sharjah Art Institute, Sharjah Art Museum and Al Mureijah Square, placing artists close to some of the emirate’s key cultural institutions.
Bait Obaid Al Shamsi is a restored 19th century heritage complex overlooking the creek. The site has hosted artist residencies, workshops and cultural programmes since 2009, with the available studios offered on a three-month lease.
How to apply for a Sharjah Art Foundation studio
Artists and creative practitioners applying for a studio space will need to submit a portfolio of recent work and a CV. Please note, the application deadline is 10 September 2026 at 11:59pm UAE time. Please visit the Sharjah Art Foundation website for all the finer things to note.
