What is Under the Sun?
A large-scale installation by the internationally acclaimed design duo Craig & Karl.
Set within the striking 31-metre-high Summer Garden atrium on Level 1, the installation celebrates the warmth, energy and playfulness of the season through a series of oversized inflatable sculptures. At its centre is a radiant sun, surrounded by flowers, beach balls and other colourful, whimsical forms.
Rather than simply occupying the space, Under the Sun invites visitors to experience the architecture in a new way. The walk-through installation creates an immersive summer scene within the atrium, offering a playful indoor retreat from Dubai’s heat.

Under the Sun is located in the Summer Garden at ICD Brookfield Place, on Level 1 of the landmark destination in the heart of DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre). Known for its design-led architecture, award-winning restaurants and cultural programming, ICD Brookfield Place has established itself as a destination that brings together business, hospitality, art and design.
The Summer Garden provides a dramatic setting for the installation, with its soaring 31-metre-high atrium giving the inflatable forms room to play with scale, perspective and movement.

Who are Craig & Karl?
Craig & Karl are an internationally recognised art and design duo whose work spans art, design, illustration and large-scale installation.
Working between New York and London, the pair collaborate daily to create bold, graphic and playful work that has been presented through major public art installations around the world.
For Under the Sun, their distinctive visual language of bold colour, simplified forms and optimism comes together in an environment designed to be explored rather than simply observed.
