A new open call for visual artists across the GCC
About This Open Call
Art in The Middle Magazine is launching its first ever open call, inviting visual artists across the GCC to submit work inspired by this year’s theme: Winter Light.
We’re thinking soft light, long shadows, changing skies and landscapes. But what does Winter Light mean to you?
Open to artists based in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, this is an opportunity to share your work with a wider regional audience and be part of Art in the Middle Magazine’s creative community.
Three artists will be selected by a panel of judges to receive feature opportunities across Art in the Middle Magazine’s website and digital platforms. Each selected artist will be featured through an artist interview, alongside a dedicated social media post, a mention in our newsletter and a one month banner on our website.
The open call welcomes visual artists working across all disciplines, provided the submitted artwork can be shared digitally.
Whether you work in painting, drawing, illustration, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, digital art or another visual practice, we want to see your interpretation of Winter Light.

Requirements
Eligibility
• Applicants must be residents of a GCC country: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait or Oman
• Applicants must be aged 21 or over at the time of submission
• Submitted artwork must be the applicant's original work and must have been created within the last two years
• Artists may submit up to two artworks, responding to the theme: Winter Light
• Visual artists working across all visual disciplines are welcome to apply, provided the artwork can be submitted digitally as a high-quality image
• Artwork must be submitted as a high-quality JPG or JPEG image. If the original work is physical, a high-resolution scan or a clear, well-lit photograph is acceptable
