1. Acceptance of These Terms
Last updated: 1 September 2026 These Terms & Conditions apply to all Sketchy Supper event tickets, bookings and Gift Vouchers purchased from or issued by Art in the Middle Magazine LLC, referred to in these terms as Art in the Middle, we, us or our. By purchasing a ticket or Gift Voucher, redeeming a Gift Voucher, making a booking, or attending a Sketchy Supper event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and the general Terms & Conditions of artinthemiddle.com. If there is any conflict concerning a Sketchy Supper ticket, booking or Gift Voucher, these Sketchy Supper Terms & Conditions will apply.
2. Sketchy Supper
Sketchy Supper is an event experience organised by Art in the Middle Magazine LLC and may include dining, drawing or creative activities, entertainment, beverages and other experiences described on the relevant event page. Specific details including the date, time, venue, menu, programme, artists, illustrators, partners and inclusions will be shown on the applicable event or booking page.
3. Event Tickets & Bookings
A confirmed ticket is valid only for the Sketchy Supper event, date and booking specified in the confirmation email. Your booking is confirmed only once payment has been successfully processed and you have received a booking confirmation from Art in the Middle. Tickets have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Tickets must not be resold for commercial purposes or for more than their original purchase price. We reserve the right to cancel any ticket that we reasonably believe has been obtained fraudulently, duplicated, unlawfully resold or purchased using an unauthorised payment method.
4. Ticket Refunds & Changes
Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, all ticket sales are final once a booking has been confirmed. If you are unable to attend because of a change in your personal circumstances, including illness, travel disruption, work commitments or any other personal reason, this will not normally entitle you to a refund. Tickets cannot normally be moved to another Sketchy Supper date unless we expressly agree otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, remedy or other right that you may have under applicable UAE law.
5. Event Cancellation or Rescheduling
If Art in the Middle cancels a Sketchy Supper event and does not provide the booked service, ticket holders will be offered a full refund of the ticket amount paid to Art in the Middle or, where appropriate and with the ticket holder's agreement, the option to move the booking to another available Sketchy Supper date. If we materially reschedule an event, including moving it to another date, ticket holders will be notified using the email address supplied when booking and will be given the option to accept the new arrangements or request a refund within the period stated in our notification. Minor changes to the programme, menu, participating artists, illustrator, event format, timetable, décor, seating arrangement or other elements of the experience will not normally constitute cancellation or material rescheduling, provided the overall Sketchy Supper experience is still being delivered substantially as advertised. Any statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
6. Gift Vouchers
A Sketchy Supper Gift Voucher allows the recipient to book an eligible Sketchy Supper event from the dates made available for voucher redemption during the voucher's validity period. A Gift Voucher is not automatically a reservation for a particular event. Unless another validity period is clearly stated when purchased, Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date will be displayed on or supplied with the Gift Voucher. The recipient must redeem and complete their booking before the voucher expires. Availability for individual event dates is not guaranteed, so recipients are encouraged to book early. An expired Gift Voucher has no cash value and cannot normally be redeemed, extended or refunded except where required by applicable law or where Art in the Middle agrees otherwise.
7. Voucher Redemption
Each Gift Voucher contains a unique voucher code or QR code. To use a Gift Voucher, the recipient must enter the voucher code through the designated redemption process and select an available Sketchy Supper event date. Entering or validating a voucher code does not by itself constitute redemption. A Gift Voucher is considered successfully redeemed only when Art in the Middle has accepted the redemption and issued a booking confirmation to the recipient by email. Once that booking confirmation has been issued: the voucher will be marked as redeemed; the corresponding place at the selected event will be reserved; and the booking will become subject to the Event Ticket & Booking Terms in this document. A voucher may only be redeemed once unless the voucher expressly states otherwise. If a redemption attempt is unsuccessful and no confirmation email is issued, the voucher should remain available for a later valid redemption.
8. Voucher Value
A Gift Voucher provides the experience or booking entitlement stated when it is purchased. Gift Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and no cash change will be given. If we offer different Sketchy Supper packages or experiences at different prices, the voucher may only be used for the experience or value stated on the voucher unless we expressly allow an upgrade or other arrangement. Any additional amount required for an optional upgrade must be paid when the booking is made.
9. Voucher Transfers
Unless otherwise stated on the voucher, an unused Gift Voucher may be given to another person before it has been redeemed. Once the voucher has been redeemed and a booking confirmation has been issued, the booking becomes subject to the normal ticket terms and cannot automatically be transferred to another person. Commercial resale of Gift Vouchers is prohibited. Gift Vouchers must not be resold for more than their original purchase price.
10. Lost, Stolen or Shared Voucher Codes
Voucher codes should be treated like tickets and kept secure. Art in the Middle is not responsible for a voucher code that has been voluntarily shared with another person and subsequently used without the purchaser's or intended recipient's permission. Where reasonably possible, we may assist with a lost Gift Voucher if the purchaser can provide sufficient information to verify the original purchase. If the same voucher code is presented by more than one person, the first valid redemption recorded in our system will normally be treated as the valid redemption, subject to investigation in cases of suspected fraud or technical error.
11. Voucher Purchases & Refunds
Unless required by applicable law, Gift Voucher purchases are final and are not refundable simply because the purchaser or recipient changes their mind or does not use the voucher. If Art in the Middle permanently discontinues Sketchy Supper and the holder has a valid, unused Gift Voucher that can no longer reasonably be redeemed, we will offer an appropriate replacement or refund in accordance with applicable law. If an event selected using a Gift Voucher is cancelled by Art in the Middle, the voucher entitlement will be restored or the recipient will be offered another appropriate remedy.
12. Voucher Delivery
Gift Vouchers are normally delivered electronically to the email address entered during purchase. The purchaser is responsible for checking that the recipient's name, email address and other information entered during checkout are correct. If you believe a Gift Voucher has been sent to an incorrect email address, contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to assist, but we cannot guarantee that a voucher can be recovered if it has already been successfully redeemed by another person. Recipients should also check their spam or junk email folder if the voucher does not appear in their inbox.
13. Entry to the Event
Guests may be required to present their booking confirmation, QR code, voucher confirmation or other booking information when entering the venue. We may also ask for identification where reasonably necessary to verify a booking, confirm eligibility or comply with venue or legal requirements. Admission remains subject to the rules and safety requirements of the venue. Guests are responsible for arriving at the correct venue on the correct date and at the time specified in their confirmation. Late admission may not always be possible once an activity, meal or programme has started. Failure to attend the event, arriving late or attending the wrong date does not normally entitle the guest to a refund.
14. Age Requirements & Alcohol
The applicable minimum age for each Sketchy Supper event will be clearly stated on the event page. Where alcoholic beverages are served or included as part of a Sketchy Supper event in Dubai, guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcohol. Valid photo identification may be requested by Art in the Middle, the venue or venue staff. Alcohol will only be served in accordance with applicable UAE law and the rules and licence conditions of the venue. Guests who do not satisfy applicable age or identification requirements may be refused alcoholic beverages and, where age is an essential condition of entry stated before purchase, may be refused admission.
15. Food, Dietary Requirements & Allergies
Sketchy Supper may include food and beverages prepared or supplied by the event venue or third-party food and beverage providers. Guests should provide requested dietary information when booking and notify us of allergies or important dietary requirements as early as possible. We and the venue will make reasonable efforts to accommodate notified dietary requirements where possible, but we cannot guarantee that kitchens, preparation areas or food will be completely free from traces of particular allergens. Guests with serious or life-threatening allergies should contact us before booking so that the available arrangements can be discussed. Menus and individual dishes may change depending on availability and operational requirements.
16. Guest Conduct
Guests must behave respectfully towards other guests, artists, illustrators, venue employees, suppliers and Art in the Middle staff. Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, dangerous, unlawful, excessively disruptive or seriously intoxicated behaviour will not be accepted. Art in the Middle and the venue reserve the right to refuse admission or require a guest to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or the enjoyment of other guests. A guest removed because of their own serious misconduct will not normally be entitled to a refund.
17. Venue Rules & Personal Belongings
Guests must comply with reasonable venue rules, including rules concerning safety, security, prohibited items, smoking, alcohol and access to restricted areas. Guests remain responsible for their own personal belongings. Art in the Middle is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings except to the extent that responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Photography & Video
Photography and video recording may take place during Sketchy Supper events for editorial, documentary, social media and promotional purposes. We may capture general photographs or recordings of the event atmosphere, including groups of attendees. Where required by applicable law or appropriate in the circumstances, additional consent may be requested before using identifiable close-up photography or recordings of an individual for promotional purposes. If you have concerns about appearing in photography or video, please notify a member of the Art in the Middle team when you arrive and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. Guests must also respect the privacy of other attendees when taking and sharing their own photographs or recordings.
19. Event Programme & Changes
Sketchy Supper is a live event and some elements may need to change. We may make reasonable changes to the menu, illustrator, artist, suppliers, partners, programme, event timing, layout, seating or creative activities where necessary. Where a change materially affects the fundamental nature of the purchased experience, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable UAE law.
20. Payments
Online payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. Art in the Middle does not receive or store your complete credit or debit card details. Payments are subject to successful authorisation by the relevant payment provider and financial institution. A booking or Gift Voucher is not confirmed if the payment fails, is reversed, charged back or is identified as fraudulent.
21. Personal Data & Communications
We collect and process personal information that is reasonably necessary to: process ticket and Gift Voucher purchases; deliver Gift Vouchers; process voucher redemptions; issue booking confirmations; manage event attendance; communicate essential information about an event; provide customer support; prevent fraud and misuse; and comply with applicable legal and accounting obligations. We may use service providers such as Stripe for payment processing and Brevo for email delivery and communications. Providing an email address for a purchase or booking allows us to send transactional and service-related communications concerning that purchase, voucher or event. Purchasing a ticket or Gift Voucher does not automatically constitute consent to receive unrelated marketing communications. Where marketing consent is required, we will request it separately. Marketing communications will include an unsubscribe mechanism where applicable. Further information about how we process personal data is available in the Art in the Middle Privacy Policy.
22. Information Provided About Other People
If you purchase a Gift Voucher for another person or otherwise provide another person's name, email address or personal information to us, you confirm that you are authorised to provide that information for the purpose of delivering the Gift Voucher or administering the booking. We will use that information for the relevant Gift Voucher, booking and event administration purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
23. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect a Sketchy Supper event. These may include government restrictions, emergencies, extreme weather, venue closure, serious safety concerns, transport disruption, natural disasters or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented. Where such circumstances require us to cancel or materially reschedule an event, we will notify affected guests as soon as reasonably possible and provide the options or remedies required under these Terms and applicable law.
24. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any responsibility that Art in the Middle cannot lawfully exclude or limit under applicable UAE law. Subject to applicable law, Art in the Middle will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms removes any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable UAE consumer-protection legislation.
25. Third-Party Venues & Suppliers
Sketchy Supper may take place at third-party venues and may involve restaurants, caterers, artists, illustrators, sponsors or other independent suppliers. Their own reasonable venue, health, safety or operational rules may apply in addition to these Terms. Where Art in the Middle is responsible to you under applicable law for the Sketchy Supper service, the involvement of a third-party supplier does not remove any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
26. Intellectual Property
Sketchy Supper branding, event concepts, written materials and original Art in the Middle content remain the intellectual property of Art in the Middle Magazine LLC or their respective licensors. Participation in the event does not grant guests any ownership or commercial-use rights in Art in the Middle intellectual property. Guests retain ownership of artwork they personally create during the event unless clearly stated otherwise.
27. Complaints & Customer Support
If there is a problem with your ticket, Gift Voucher, redemption or Sketchy Supper experience, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter promptly. Please include your name, booking or order reference and the email address used for the purchase. You can contact us at: Email: [email protected] Website: artinthemiddle.com/contact Nothing in this section affects your right to contact the relevant UAE consumer-protection authority or exercise any rights available under applicable law.
28. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly between you and Art in the Middle will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdictional rules that apply.
29. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The terms applicable to a particular purchase will normally be the version in effect when that ticket or Gift Voucher was purchased, except where a change is required by law or is more favourable to the customer. The latest version will be published on the Sketchy Supper website together with the date it was last updated.
